At ASC conference this year we are sponsoring a workshop on ACCE new criteria for assessment of student learning outcomes. Education committee invites instructors from the hosting institute to present a course they want to share with ASC members. This time, Dr. Mark Clayton from the Department of Architecture, Prof. Geoffrey Booth from the Department of Landscape Architecture & Urban Planning, and Dr. Julian Kang from the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University will present the interdisciplinary class project and competition they facilitated together. In Spring 2015, 13 teams drawn from ARCH 406 Arch Design V, LDEV 688 Development Feasibility and Design II, and COSC 650 Advanced Construction Visualization worked together on the interdisciplinary class project, which includes the development of the conceptualization, design, construction, activation, and facilities management for the RIVERTREE ACADEMY in Fort Worth TX. A group of students who won this class project & competition will also present their project execution plan at the committee meeting. Other business will follow this presentation. All ASC members are welcome to join this committee meeting.

Hosted by Region 8, the goal of the International Development Committee (http://region8.ascweb.org/idc/) is to collaborate with & promote international construction education. All ASC members are very welcome to attend, especially those interested in representing other Regions on the Committee. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss how we can best promote the broader opportunities afforded by membership of the ASC. Drawing upon the experience of members in developing successful staff and student exchange programs, and international participation in ASC student competitions, the Committee will explore the potential for new areas of partnership and network building, and set an agenda for further growth in 2015/16.
