About Us
The construction education program at Texas A&M University was established in 1946. The program integrates principles of architecture, technology, engineering, business and project management, preparing students to effectively manage the total construction process. It is one of the finest programs of construction higher education in the nation.
Undergraduate students receive a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science. Current enrollment in the undergraduate program is approximately 700 students. The undergraduate program at Texas A&M University is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and was one of the first accredited programs of construction higher education in the nation.
The Masters of Science in Construction Management program at Texas A&M University is an advanced course of study. This program offers a rich curriculum that emphasizes construction project management by addressing advanced topics in cost and finances, project management, information technology, sustainability, lean construction, interdisciplinary aspects of construction, and facility management.
The graduate and undergraduate curriculum is serviced by approximately 30 full and part time faculty members, 20 of which hold Ph.D. or equivalent degrees. Many of them also have extensive experience in the construction industry. The close bond between students and teachers is strengthened by faculty involvement in extra-curricular student activities. Faculty members advise student professional organizations and coach the various student competition teams.
